Lucille Ball

One of the most amazing women in the world has made more than just television history. She has made headlines all across the globe even after her passing. She set the bar for women who wanted to try a hand at comedy. She even made curly red hair an iconic look. She was an extraordinary person and I am proud to say she is one of my major role models, Lucille Ball.

I am one of those people you could definitely call an old soul. My favorite TV show is I Love Lucy and Gilligan’s Island. Elvis Presley is definitely in my top 5 favorite artists and I am going through a major Audrey Hepburn obsession phase that will not be passing anytime soon. There is no doubt in my mind that Lucille Ball has helped create who I am today. I feel as though I gained a lot of my confidence through her characters. She made me want to wear red lipstick more and wear a polka dotted apron while in the kitchen.

It genuinely makes me sad that she passed away before I was born because I would be dying to meet her if she were still alive. Even though she was a goofy, clumsy, and crazy red head on screen, I would like to think that she was the same in person with just a little bit more grace. Her character on I Love Lucy just seemed to fit her so well that I can’t imagine her any other way than a kind hearted goofball who didn’t care what other people thought. She paved the road for so many women in todays world with jumping right into comedy and making sure it was no longer just a mans world. I look at actresses today and can actually see a little bit of Lucy in people like Sofia Vergara, Debra Messing (Also known as her modern day twin), and Zooey Deschanel. All extraordinary and beautiful women who aren’t afraid to be themselves and be goofy on the big screen.

I can’t tell you how many times I haven’t watched the entire I Love Lucy series but I can tell you my all time favorite episode. The one where Lucy finds out she is having a baby and goes to Ricky’s club to tell him. She spends all day trying to tell him the good news and finally when she goes to Club Tropicana and secretly requests a song that Ricky plays called We’re Having a Baby, My Baby and Me and as he goes around the room to figure out who the happy couple is and he finds Lucy and realizes that he is the happy couple expecting a baby boy. I’m tearing up as I picture the scene even haha. I’ll leave a link down below because you haven’t to watch it and if you cry you better tell me! I can’t be the only one sobbing.

There are os much I could say about Lucille Ball but I think you get the picture. SHE”S WONDERFUL!!! I would love to know who your role models are so please let me know in the comments below. Thank you so much for reading and you can look forward to more upcoming posts really soon. This blogger is getting back into the game!
