I am one of those odd balls out there that just can’t wait for Christmas music to start playing on the radio. I love some good old Christmas music and I am not ashamed to say that I felt the need to listen to Michael Buble’s Christmas album back in August….okay maybe I’m a little ashamed haha.
I am sure that most of you will know these songs and if not you must give them a listen. Some of them I grew up with singing in the car as my mom and I did our Christmas errands and some I fell in love with over the years.
Mariah Carey | All I Wants For Christmas
How can you not love this song? It has become a Christmas classic and it is a must at every Christmas party. Its crazy to think this song came out back in 1994, I feel like its still brand new with how much everyone still loves it and singers make covers of it. It seems like every year someone else does a new cover of this song or she remakes it with a new featured singer.
Santa Baby | Eartha Kitt
Oh…..My…..Gosh, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this song. I can remember being so young and singing this song all the time, over and over again. Eartha Kitt will always be a favorite in my list of singers because of how unique and beautiful her voice is. Santa Baby is another classic that I play on repeat during the holidays and no body could ever sing this song as wonderful as she did.
Last Christmas | Wham!
Oh Wham! Even though this is technically a sad song it still keeps that upbeat Christmas joy. Again, it’s just another classic that you can’t miss out on. I know when it starts playing, majority of yhe people around me become profession lip syncers or start singing along. I’ll be the one belting it out regardless of how I sound haha I’m just not shy around Christmas music.
I’m Gettin’ Nuttin for Christmas | Stan Ferber
Okay so this one is a bit odd. When I was a kid my mom would always play this one CD that had a mixture of older Christmas songs and this was one of them. If you haven’t heard it, this song is about a bad child that does a lot of horrible things and is gettin’ nuttin for Christmas. At the end of the song the child hears something downstairs and assumes it is Santa Claus when actually it is a burglar. It’s really a hilarious song that explains why some people get coal for Christmas….
It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas | Michael Bublé
Do I even need to explain why this is a favorite? IT’S MR. BUBLÉ!!! You really can’t go wrong with any of his Christmas songs. His voice is so beautiful and after not listening to it for so long I finally gave in back in August and had a listen……to the whole album……2 times.
If you haven’t heard these songs please give them a listen. They are some of the greats and if you have any favorites please leave a comment below to let me know. I’m always looking for new Christmas songs to fall in love with and really put me in the Christmas mood, which isn’t very hard to do. Happy Blogmas!!!
